ACHIEVEMENTS:

Led realignment of 34 IT staff members into 8 departments.  Result: The receiving divisions saved a total of $34.8K in recruitment costs and $102K in equipment costs.  The annual IT personnel budget was reduced by $442K.

Overhauled department of 14 personnel scheduled for reassignment by assessing & realigning staff, fostering redesign & mentoring to reach regulatory standards.  Result: 4 lawsuits avoided during the first 6 months, and department received state recognition.

Formulated an information storage and retrieval profile to assess costs and identify the most cost-effective methodology.  Result:  Immediate avoidance of a $1.2M expenditure.  Five-year cost reduction of $2.7M.

Increased revenue collection by integrating a fiscal management and a project management system to automatically identify billable revenue.  Result: 28% reduction in missed or late milestone billings during project implementation.

Reduced repair cycle time by establishing a triage and escalation system for identified equipment.  Result: Overall cycle time reduced from 7 days to 5 days during the first 30 days of implementation.  Annual repairs increased by 23% with no staff increase.

Modified the negotiation process for salary contracts so that bargaining unit members, the media, and the public perceived the process as problem solving.  Result: Average 8.4% salary increase with no loss in benefits and increased paid membership.

Decreased project completion time & increased revenue collection by developing & implementing a process to standardize projects and software to track and notify project progress.  Result: Missed or out-of-sequence tasks eliminated.  Completion times reduced by 16%.

Reduced support call backlog and analyst overhead by implementing an Internet-based Customer Relationship Management system in 10 weeks.  Result:  22% reduction in support calls within 3 months & 39% reduction in backlog during first 6 months.  Staffing costs reduced by $78K.
